Email Management
Sending, receiving, reading and organising mail in your GG.email inbox
Sending Emails
You can send mail from any address you own: your platform addresses and, on Pro, your own name@gg.email.
That way each message goes out under the right identity.
How to Compose and Send
- Sign in to your inbox
- Click Compose
- In the From field, choose which of your addresses to send from
- Enter the recipient's email address
- Write your subject and message
- Click Send
.wow character address
for guild mail or your Twitch address for stream business. You can set the address Compose starts with under
Default reply address in your General settings.
Who You Can Send To
- Free - Other GG.email addresses only
- Pro - Any email address
Sending Limits
Free and Pro both have per-minute and daily sending limits to prevent abuse, and Pro's are higher. Spam and abuse are not tolerated, and can get an account suspended.
Receiving Emails
Mail sent to any of your addresses arrives in your one inbox. Each email shows which of your addresses it was sent to, so you can tell your identities apart.
Who Can Email You
- Free - Other GG.email users, gaming platforms, and major personal email providers such as Gmail and Outlook. The sender must pass email authentication checks, so a message that only pretends to come from a gaming platform is refused.
- Pro - Anyone
Inbox Organization
- To field - Shows which of your addresses received the email
- Unread mail - Unread emails stand out in the list
- Stars - Star an email to find it again under Starred
Mail History
How long your mail is kept depends on your plan. Older mail is removed automatically.
- Free - 14 days, 250 MB of storage
- Pro - 1 year, 10 GB of storage
Upgrading to Pro gives a year of history to mail that arrives after you upgrade. Mail you received before upgrading keeps the 14-day limit.
Reading and Viewing Emails
Email View
Click any email in your inbox to open and read it. The email view shows:
- The message itself
- Who sent it
- Which of your addresses received it
- The date and time
Actions
From the email view, you can:
- Reply - Respond to the sender from the address that received the email
- Reply All - Respond to the sender and the other recipients
- Forward - Send the email on to someone else
- Mark as unread - Keep it flagged as new
- Delete - Move the email to Trash
Organizing Your Inbox
Mailboxes
- Inbox - Everything sent to your addresses
- Starred - Emails you've starred
- Sent - Emails you've sent
- Spam - Emails you've reported as spam
- Trash - Emails you've deleted
Working With Several Emails
Select emails in the list to mark them as read or unread, report them as spam, or delete them in one go.
Managing Storage
The sidebar shows how much of your storage you've used. To free up space:
- Delete emails you don't need
- Delete long emails, which take the most space
- Consider upgrading to Pro for 10 GB, plus extra 10 GB blocks for $1 a month
Forwarding Emails
Forwarding an Email
You can forward any email:
- Open the email
- Click Forward
- Enter the recipient's email address
- Add a message if you like
- Click Send
The usual sending rules apply: on Free you can forward only to GG.email addresses.
Replying to Emails
When you reply, GG.email sends from the address the original email was sent to. This keeps your identity consistent in each conversation.
Reply Options
- Reply - Respond to the sender only
- Reply All - Respond to everyone on the email, when there was more than one recipient
- Forward - Send the email on to someone new
Quoting
Replies include the original message quoted below your response, so the conversation keeps its context.
Troubleshooting
Emails Not Arriving
If you're not receiving emails:
- Check that the sender used one of your addresses exactly. You can see them all under Platforms in your profile settings
- Check that you haven't run out of storage
- On Free, check that the sender is someone Free accounts can receive from (see Who Can Email You)
- Look in Spam and Trash
- Check status.gg.email for service issues
Can't Send Emails
If sending fails:
- Check that the recipient address is spelled correctly
- On Free, check that the recipient is a GG.email address
- Check that you haven't reached your plan's sending limits. Wait a while and try again
- Check that your account is in good standing
